The Chinese pharmacopeia includes several animal-derived substances which have no herbal substitutes. While this clinic takes all measures possible to ensure that our herbs and supplements come from non-endangered, toxin-free & ethically harvested sources, we appreciate that some individuals prefer not to ingest animal-based substances.

Cupping technique has been highly used amongst very active people experiencing muscles soreness or tightness in particular muscle areas. Also known to relieve back and neck pains, high blood pressure, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism, and even cellulite. The suction cups vacuum the skin into the cup, holding the capillaries hostage for a time period. The release of the suction usually leaves a circular mark on the skin that will dissolve within 7 days after the treatment..

Gua Sha. Its meaning loosely translates to ‘scraping, rubbing or pushing.’ Essentially, Gua Sha is just a tool-assisted type of massage. Gua sha produces transitory therapeutic petechiae(capillaries appearing as red spots on the skin) that represent excess amounts of blood in the subcutaneous area where scrapped. The petechia's appearance will dissolve within 7 days after the treatment. When your body experiences inflammation or stagnant of Qi Gua Sha can help improve circulation and promote healing.

Tui Nai massages the muscles and tendons with the hand as a tool and a technique of acupressure. It is applied directly to the body to affect the flow of qi at different point locations of the body that would normally receive needles during an acupuncture treatment. Facilitating the healing process removes the blockages and keeps the energy moving through the meridians as well as the muscles. The treatment can be applied for member that are not able to remove their clothing for a treatment. Some special tools are used to assist the practitioner with acupressure.

Moxibustion - is a form of therapy that entails the burning of mugwort leaves that produces a significant amount of heat. The dried mugwort leaves morphed into spongy herb form that can be burnt loose or stacked into a stick.
Moxa enhances healing within the acupuncture meridian channels. It goals are to tonify the channel and the channel organ along with removing cold accumulation within the body. As such, the leaves are burnt close to the skin's surface using a stick to apply heat or direct moxa to the skin.‌


Dr. Pearl Lawson is a well-educated Licensed Practitioner in Oriental Medicine. In 2011 Dr. Lawson began a learning journey, in Shanghai China where she studied the Chinese herbs. Further receiving her Master in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through her school she enrolled in a intense program to study yet again in Shanghai China at the TCM Shanghai University with ShuGuang Hospital. 2020 she received her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Chinese Oriental Medicine in San Diego. She has an extensive theoretical and architectural background that she uses to build her patients the most comprehensive treatment possible.
